Marjorie David Obituary

Marjorie M. David, 98, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley David, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage until his passing. Born in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William Samuel Potts and Julia (Masterson) Clark Potts, Marjorie was raised in Hartford and later settled in Newington in the 1960s to raise her family. A devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church, she was also a proud member of the Polish Club and the CT Nutmeggers Drum Corps. Marjorie was a hardworking and dedicated mom, grandma, and great-grandma who found her greatest joy in her family. She supported her children in their various activities growing up, including being there for all her childrens' Newington Fife and Drum Corps events. She enjoyed music, traveling, and especially polka dancing with her husband, Stanley. Known for her warm heart, kindness, and strong spirit, she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her. She leaves behind her loving children, William David of Middletown, Marlene Linnon and her husband Richard of Newington, and Stanley David of Newington, her cherished grandchildren Matthew David, Richard Linnon, Jr and his partner Brittany Paige, Daniel Linnon, Jayson David, and Audrey David, and great-grandchildren Richard Leo Linnon III and Levie Stanley David. She also leaves her brother John Francis Potts and his wife Maryann of Holyoke, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher David, and siblings, William Clark, Lawrence Carlson, Mary Bosco and Dolores Debacco. Her family wishes to thank the Accent Care Hospice Staff, Anita, Brenna, Rose and Janice, and Dr. Patel and the staff from the UConn Hospital 3rd Floor for their care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 28th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Her funeral service will begin on Monday, September 29th at 9:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington. She will be laid to rest with her husband in West Meadow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Annunciation Parish, 626 Willard Ave., Newington, CT 06111.
