Michael P. Zavarelli

Michael P. Zavarelli, 59, of Hamden, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Midstate Medical Center. He was born on April 19, 1966 in Medford, Massachusetts, a son of Anthony Zavarelli and the late Virginia (Fahnley) Zavarelli. Mike resided in Hamden for most of his married life. He retired from First County Bank of Stamford after 22 years of employment as a Customer Service Representative. A man of strong faith, Mike was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He worked as a Christian Radio DJ for WVOF FM at Fairfield University for many years with his best friends, Bob Shriver and Bob Felberg. He loved his Mets and Giants, the old Price is Right and Jeopardy, watching SpongeBob with his daughters and playing with his cocker spaniels, Winnie and Bella. He is survived by his wife, Lisa M. Zavarelli of Hamden; his daughters, Leia Virginia Zavarelli and Ashley Sandra Zavarelli; his father, Anthony Zavarelli; his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Michael Rednak; his brother, David Zavarelli; and numerous extended relatives and beloved friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Zavarelli; his mother-in-law, Eleanor E. Toth; and his best friends, Bob Shriver and Bob Felberg. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Saturday, October 4th from 2:00 – 4:00pm followed by his funeral service. Interment will be held privately.
