Paul Dube Obituary

Paul H. Dube, Jr., age 89 of Ocala, Florida, beloved husband of the late Norma (Hibbard) Dube, entered peaceful rest on Monday, February 3, 2025 in Shelton, Connecticut with his family by his side. Born in Derby on October 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Paul Dube, Sr. and Katherine (Egan) Dube. In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was predeceased by his five siblings, James Dube, Donald Dube, Margaret DeGennaro, Rosemary Deegan and John "Jack" Dube. He was affectionately known as "UP" to all his nieces and nephews – Katherine Callini, Kevin Deegan, Clare Falcha, Mark Dube, Brian Dube, Richard Dube, Lorraine Dube, Debbie Pina, James DeGennaro, Jacqueline Stumpo, Christine Davenport, Patty Dube-Mancil, John J. Dube, Jr., his godson Sean Deegan, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends he made along the way. He was also predeceased by his nephews David Dube, Douglas Dube, Kenneth Dube, Lance Dube and his niece Karen Boyd. As was their dream, Paul and Norma retired to Florida where they enjoyed the warm weather, traveling and going to the local VFW with friends. One of Paul's proudest accomplishments was being a United States Marine. He served honorably from 1955 through 1958 earning the rank of Corporal. Paul grew up in Ansonia and was the valedictorian of his class at Pine High School in 1955. For many years Paul owned and operated Dube's ARCO Station in Ansonia. He was also a racing enthusiast and in his younger years he even went to Indianapolis and raced to qualify for the Indy 500. While living in Connecticut, Paul was active in his community, never missing an Ansonia football game, as well as being a past President of the Norwood Athletic Club. He was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the UCONN women's basketball team. Services will be held at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 is entrusted with his arrangements.
