Raymond Carroll Obituary

Raymond Carroll Jr. ObituaryANSONIA: Raymond J. Carroll, Jr, age 67 of Ansonia, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in his home. Born in Bridgeport, CT on September 17, 1958, Ray was the son of the late Raymond, Sr., and Carol (Kalson) Carroll. As a teen, Ray grew up in Seymour near the then Maple Street School, and during his teen years he could be found spending time with friends at nearby Sochrin's Pond Park, where he was well-known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor. Ray's convivial nature was infectious and he was often at the center of any conversation that involved laughter. He was much-loved for his innocent humor and playful antics. He had a particular affinity for name puns and could create them with the spontaneity of a stand-up comic. Ray loved anything to do with cars or mechanics. He enjoyed tinkering and had an intuitive curiosity about how things worked. He was also an avid Beatles fan and was always ready for a game of 31 or a good movie. He enjoyed taking a group trip to Custy's Seafood Buffet in Rhode Island during the summer, as well as taking part in an annual fall trip to the Big E. Ray demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of later years that were marked by persistent illness, and he met those challenges with grace and strength. Having recently retired from Home Depot, Ray enjoyed spending time at home with his partner Denise. Friends and family will remember him fondly as just an easy-going and personable guy. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his partner, Denise Durrschmidt of Ansonia, siblings, Barbara Ford (Tom Palmieri) of Seymour, Mary Donaher (William) of Watertown, Theresa Spak (James) of North Brookfield, NY, Patricia Carroll of Monticello, Kentucky, Matthew Carroll Sr. of Ansonia and James Carroll of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, many nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved feline friend, "Homer". All services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 Church Street, Seymour, CT is entrusted with his arrangements.
