Rene Daniel Obituary

Rene Joseph Daniel, 75, of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025 after a short illness. Born on November 14, 1949, in Lawrence, MA, he was the beloved husband of Marion (Hall) Daniel and son of the late Pauline (Jussaume) Daniel and Roger Daniel. Rene grew up in Metheun and graduated from Haverhill Trade School. He attended Wentworth College before earning his degree in history from Worcester State College. He went on to share his skills and passion as a teacher of cabinetmaking at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton, MA, where he inspired his students for 33 years. A lifelong outdoorsman, Rene loved nothing more than time spent in nature. He treasured camping trips with his family and friends at Hermit Island, ME, and found joy in boating, sailing, and woodworking. Rene and his wife Marion enjoyed many summers in Harpswell, Maine and winters in The Villages in Florida. He approached life with a gentle demeanor and dry wit, which brought smiles to so many. Rene is survived by his wife, Marion (Hall) Daniel; brother, Roger and his wife Kathleen of Portsmouth, NH; niece, Michele (Daniel) Carr and wife Mandy of Rochester, NH; brother-in-law, David St. John and Joan of E. Dennis, MA; niece, Jessica (St. John) Staunton, her husband Jay, and their children, Dominic and Mary Linda of Wellesley, MA. Rene was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Linda (Hall) St. John; niece, Rebecca (Daniel) Driscoll, and her son Justin Janvrin. Rene will be remembered for his skill in woodworking, his love of the outdoors, and the warmth and laughter he shared with all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched. Kindly consider a donation to a charity close to your heart in Rene's memory. Rene will be honored in a private burial service with his family.

We do don´t know Rene well but we had gotten together with Marion and Rene on their way back from Florida. He was a gentleman with a great sense of humor. We wish we lived closer to them both so that we could have gotten to know him better. Marion we are so sorry and hope that you will find solace and peace knowing that you both loved each other so much. Darlene and Dennis
