Richard Hopkins

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard W. Hopkins, 79, of Rocky Hill, CT, who passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. Born on August 10, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Richard and Florence Hopkins. Richard was a loving husband and father.
Richard graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1964, then graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic in 1968. He married his beloved wife, Carol, in 1968 and together raised two children, Richard and Brian. Richard worked for Pratt & Whitney for 33 years at locations in Connecticut and Singapore.
Outside of work and in retirement, Richard loved to fish on his boat in Long Island Sound. He also loved to travel with his wife. They traveled the United States, Australia (his favorite), New Zealand, Asia and Europe. After traveling, they moved to Venice, FL for 13 years, returning to Connecticut in 2023.
Richard is survived by his wife, Carol, and his sons Richard and Brian of Rocky Hill, CT; and his sister Karen Hopkins of Paramus, NJ. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Hopkins.
Calling Hours are Thursday, November 6th from 5-7pm with a Memorial Service Friday, November 7th at 9:30am at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill, CT. followed by burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
