Rose Bucknor Obituary

On Monday, May 19, 2025, Rose took the Lord's hand and went home. Rose Lee Bucknor was born on August 18, 1940, to Edward and Isabel Hardison. She attended Barnard-Brown Elementary School and graduated from Hartford Public High School. Rose was employed with M. Swift & Sons for over 35 years, and upon retiring, worked as a Security Guard at the Hartford Insurance Group and as a Companion in the senior community. Rose was an active member of the Latter Rain Church, serving in several capacities. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond Bucknor; her father, Edward Hardison; her mother, Isabel Hardison-Barney; sister, Dorothy J. Harris; and two brothers, Miles Barney, Jr. and Barnard Barney. Rose leaves to mourn, her son, Louis A. Hardison of West Hartford; grandson, Louis Jones of N. Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter, Jendayi Miller of Hartford; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister Margaret Wilkins of Bristol, CT; her brother, Kevin Barney of Lumberton, NC; two nieces, Paula Harris of Southern Pines, NC and Stacy Wilkins of Bristol, CT; her nephew, James C. Harris Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; and four great-nephews, Garrott and Tecumseh Harris and Tashon and Marlon Wilkins; and other family members, extended family, and a host of friends. The family of Rose L. Bucknor would like to extend a special Thank You and their appreciation to the special care aids at the Hebrew Center, Autumn Lake Healthcare at New Britain, and the Hartford Health Care Hospice Team who cared for Rose during her illness. We also extend our heart-felt sincere Thank You to the people who supported our family during this journey, those who visited, those that contributed their time, love, efforts, phone calls, and prayers. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 4, 10-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life, 11 a.m., at Latter Rain Christian Fellowship, 3200 Main St., Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
