Rose Desbiens Obituary

Rosella "Rose" Desbiens 97 of East Haven, formerly of New Haven passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025 at Whispering Pines. She was born March 6, 1927 in Brattleboro, VT to William and Rosella (Aldrich) Kent. Rose is survived by her two loving sons; Larry Desbiens (William Marsland) of Branford and Gary Desbiens (David Sanchez) of San Juan, Puerto Rico along with grandchildren; Jonathan Marango, David Marango and Jennifer Cox, great grandchildren, numerous nieces/nephews and a dear friend, Marilyn Wenzel of New Haven. Rosella is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald Desbiens (2009), daughter, Edie Marango (2012) and seventeen brothers and sisters. Rose is the last survivor of eighteen children. Rose was part of the "Greatest Generation," she always dressed up and never went anywhere not looking her best. She worked very hard with SNET and raising her family. She was an avid painter, cake decorator, loved to arrange flowers and bake. She was a member of TOPS and the 315 Club while in New Haven. Family will receive friends on Saturday February 8, 2025 from 2 PM until the time of service at 4:30 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. After the services, burial will be private and at a later date. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Rose, please visit our floral store.
