He was an active member of their Scholarship Committee.
In Winsted, he was infamous for jogging around Highland Lake every day no matter rain, sleet and snow. He was active at his gym until age 84 he faithfully worked out every day.
Sal enjoyed his two coffee shops in Torrington and friends could set their watch by his visits. He would first stop at the Donut Station on old Rte 8 and then in the evening, visit Dunkin on Rte 202. He had many friends there and his set "seat." He also enjoyed trips to the Casino to play Bingo.
