Santiago Lorenzo Obituary
Santiago Lorenzo Villarrubia, 98, beloved husband of Carmen Lydia Lorenzo Soto, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.
Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, on August 16, 1927, he was the son of the late Alejandro Lorenzo and Justina Villarrubia. He had resided in Meriden since 1952. Santiago was employed by Napier Company and retired in 1992. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Santiago loved playing his cuatro, a national instrument of Puerto Rico. He was a member of Holy Name Society. Santiago was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his wife of 78 years of marriage, Carmen Lydia, he is survived by his two daughters, Iris Gonzalez and her husband Miguel and Janet Gonzalez and her husband Ovidio; his two sons, Robert Lorenzo and his wife Alicia and Edwin Lorenzo and his wife Evelyn; his ten grandchildren, Marlene Gonzalez-Marino, Daisy Gonzalez, Jason Gonzalez, Deanna Gonzalez- Viscuso, Aileen Parciasepe, Amanda Gonzalez, Erica Lorenzo, Sara Lorenzo-de la Guerra, Megan Lorenzo, and Daniel Lorenzo; his ten great grandchildren, Alyssa Dale, Braden Marino, Kaelyn and Loren Gonzalez, Liam and Ava Viscuso, Wylie Parciasepe, Cayden, Adrianna and Nolan Gaudio, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edie Nelson Lorenzo and his seven brothers, Cecilio, Manuel, Fransico, Andre, Juan, Pedro and Domingo.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. A funeral service will be on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial.
