Santos Cordero

Santos Cordero Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Damaris Irizarry Cordero. Santos was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on August 1, 1944, and was the son of the late Eusebio and Bangela Velez Cordero. He had worked for Colonial Corrugated as a machine operator for many years. Santos was a devoted member of Star of Jacob Christian Church in New Haven and later at Senda Milagrosa Church in Hamden. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors, especially going camping. Santos greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally. Santos will be remembered for always being willing to give a helping hand to anyone and everyone who needed a helping hand. Beloved father to Anamaris Colon and her husband Alexander and Santos Cordero Jr and his wife Jessy. Loving Abuelo to Nikolas Ryan Cordero, Jacob Dylan Cordero, Gabriel Ryan Perdomo, Ethan Alexander Colon, and Seth Alexander Colon. Brother of Maximo, Narciso, Eduardo, Samuel, Isaias, Isreal, Edgar, Hector Cordero, Elizabeth Rosario and the late Susana Vega. Also survived by his nieces who were like sisters Milagros Lopez and Lucy Malave. The visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 5th from 5 to 8 PM in Star of Jacob Christian Church, 506 Howard Avenue, New Haven. A brief service will take place between 7 and 8 PM. A service will be held in the church on Thursday morning, November 6th at 10:00. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
