Steven Salvatore Presutti

Steven Salvatore Presutti, 65, of Newington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 24, 2025 after a courageous six year battle with cancer. He was born in Hartford on December 26, 1959, son of the late Erminio and Caterina (Lucci) Presutti. Steven was a lifelong Newington resident and graduate of Newington High School, Class of 1978. He enjoyed staying in touch with many of his Newington classmates and friends. At 18, he received his plumbing license which lead him to a successful career, later becoming a member of Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He passed his trade down to his oldest son and they enjoyed working side by side for many years. He took pride in mentoring and helping young plumbers coming up through the trade. His 25 years of sobriety was a testament to his strong will and the way he lived and loved life. He was a loving father and grandfather. Not a night would go by without a goodnight and I love you call or text to his brother, children, and grandchildren. Bible study on Sundays with his family brought him joy. He will be greatly missed by those he loved. Steven is survived by Becky Presutti and his children Salvatore Steven Presutti (Rosana), David Salvatore Presutti (Carly), Katherine Presutti (Alan) and Isabella Presutti (Alex); and grandchildren Salvatore Steven, Caterina, Julianna and Luca Salvatore Presutti. He is also survived by his brothers Samuel Presutti (Sharon) and David Presutti (Gina) and nephews Christopher, Connor, and Adam Presutti. He will be missed by many cousins, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Steven's family on Friday, March 28th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. He will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
