Susan Allan Nilsen

Susan Allan Nilsen passed away October 28, 2025, at home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph B. Nilsen. Born December 26, 1938, in Providence RI, daughter of John L. and Mildred G. Allan. Sue graduated from Lincoln School in Providence. Attended Mt Holyoke College, graduated from Katherine Gibbs School. She always enjoyed business. Her career started at a Boston financial firm, to Digital, then Stratton Mountain Ski Resort. Ultimately forming an event planning business with her husband: Nilsen Associates. Sue had fond memories of summers spent at Hillsborough Camp in Keen NH. Sue volunteered for meals on wheels in Granby for 18 years. She also served on various boards/committees in Granby. She was an avid golfer, tennis and bridge player. Despite many local successes on the golf course, Sue often said her biggest thrill was not the holes in one but the three times she shot her age. She is survived by her beloved cat Shadow. Her 3 daughters: Suzanne Kirschner and husband Rob, Lynn Richmond and husband Bill, and Lori Rumley and husband John. Grandchildren: Vincent Chaigne and wife Litty, David Kirschner and wife Alicia, Jessica Algard and husband Micah, Jane Rumley and John Rumley. Her niece Anne Marchant and husband Alen and their children Jan, Mark and Daniel. She will be missed by all her friends and family. Services will be private.
