Tammi Jordan Obituary
Tammi L. Jordan, lifelong resident of Meriden, Connecticut, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Elma "Evelyn" Jordan and John Tampa Shider, Jr., and one of nine siblings, born on January 19, 1972. Tammi attended Meriden Schools and graduated from Maloney High School.
Tammi was a dedicated employee of Sunrise Northeast, where she found great purpose in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Most recently, she proudly earned her Connecticut real estate license, with dreams of helping others find their forever homes.
Tammi was known for her warmth, her infectious smile, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Affectionately called "everyone's favorite aunty," she brought joy and laughter wherever she went. She had a passion for cooking, baking, dancing, karaoke, and traveling-and was always the life of the party. Tammi generously hosted community back-to-school events, bringing her food truck, good music, and big heart, ensuring no child went without.
Among her favorite songs were "Just Fine" by Mary J. Blige and "Why We Sing" by Kirk Franklin-tunes that carried her through both joyful and challenging times.
Tammi will be remembered as a loving, joyous, and selfless soul who would give you the shirt off her back or the last dollar in her wallet. She was also strong-willed and unapologetically herself, never afraid to speak her mind. Her daughters were her pride and joy, and their bond was unbreakable. She shared a special relationship with her grandson, filled with laughter and dance battles. Tammi loved deeply-her family, her friends, her community, and life itself.
To our mom, grandma, sister, aunty, friend, and fiancé -our light-we love you always and will miss you for forever and a day until we meet again.
Tammi leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Ashley Jordan, Shaneshia Jordan, and A'Nijah Jordan; grandson, A'Kyri Jordan; fiancé, Richard Weston, all of Meriden, CT; siblings, Wilhelmina Jordan and James Jordan (Brenda) of Smoaks, SC, Stevie Jordan, Yolanda Jordan, Michael Jordan, and Rozina J.
