Ugo DiPillo

Ugo DiPillo, 92, of Newington, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on October 4, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (DiCesare) DiPillo for 44 years before her passing in 2006. Ugo was born in Pratola Peligna, Italy on December 7, 1932, son of the late Edoardo and Luisa (D'Aloisio) DiPillo. He moved to Hartford in April of 1961 and settled in Newington in 1977. Ugo worked as a cabinet maker for the Barridon Corp. in Hartford until his retirement in 1997. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Ugo loved telling stories of the old country and was a handyman, being able to fix almost everything. Other than his wife and family, his second love was opera. He was a family man that helped raise his grandchildren. Most importantly, Ugo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Ugo is survived by his daughters Luisa Balducci and her husband George, and Teresa Oliveira and her husband Cesar; grandchildren Jessica Alston and her husband Derek, Nicholas Oliveira and his wife Christina, James Balducci and his wife Stephanie, and Alexandra Greenwood and her husband Justin; great-grandsons Cameron and Derek Alston Jr.; and a niece and nephews. Ugo was predeceased by his brother Rocco DiPillo; and sisters Vittoria Vallera, and Nella Saccoccia.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ugo's family on Thursday, October 9th, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
