Victor Duffus Obituary

Victor Nathaniel Duffus affectionately called Provider, husband of the late Clarise Duffus, of Bloomfield, CT passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Hartford Hospital, CT. He was born November 29, 1924, to the late Alfred and Caudella Duffus of St, Thomas, Jamaica, WI. Victor was a student of the Minto All Aged school, St. Thomas, Jamaica. Victor moved to St. Andrew, Jamaica where he met his lovely wife Beryl and together, they had 6 children. Beryl died 1995. Again, Victor remarried Clarise who later died in 2022. Victor enjoyed farming, but his love for people led him to a long and rewarding career in the hospitality industry, working for the Marriott hotels for many years. Victor had a love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar for his church in Jamaica, Bermuda and the USA. He also loved travelling and was an expert and competitive checkers and draft player. Victor had an unwavering faith and love for God. He loved his family and friends that transcended the name Provider. He was a kind, loving and compassionate person. Victor is survived by 1 sister, Wilhel; his 4 daughters, Joyce, Veronica, Idaline and Brenda; 1 son, Winston; 2 sons in law, Ernest and Mark, and a host of grand, great grand and great great-grandchildren, other close relatives and friends. Along with his parents and first wife Beryl, Victor is preceded by his second wife Clarise, 8 siblings, and 1 daughter, Roselyn Duffus. Victor's family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6pm-7pm, followed by a celebration of life at 7pm, and again on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 8am-9am, followed by a celebration of life at 9am, all to be held at Kings Chapel Church of God, 400 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT. The entombment will follow immediately after on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Mount Saint Benedict Mausoleum.
