William Scapin Obituary

PLEASANT VALLEY - William Bradford Scapin, 70, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Hartford Hospital after a long battle with medical issues from a previous injury. Born January 18, 1955 in Torrington; the son of the late William Dean and Beatrice (Lusa) Miller. He was a former employee of the Torrington Company before becoming self-employed. He loved his long time partner, Karen Hassig whom he was with for 36 years, motorcycles and working. He leaves behind three daughters, Tina Scapin, Amber Scapin and Megan Ball; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grand children; his sisters, Liana Scapin, Lisa Scapin, Marsha Hassig and her husband Stevie and Beverly Dean; sister-in-law, Debbie Dean; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Billy was predeceased by his brother, James Dean and sisters, Debra Dean, Marie Trivaudey and Brenda Mahony. Per his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no calling hours. He just wanted to be remembered for who and how he was.
