William Donald Walsh Sr.

WALSH, William Donald Walsh, Sr., 89 of Lakeland, FL, died Thursday, August 21, 2025. He was born on June 26, 1936 in Hartford, CT to William and Eleanor (Gougee) Walsh. William was predeceased by his parents William and Eleanor Walsh along with his granddaughter Ashley Walsh, sister Diane Carson and niece Michelle (Harrington) Doyon. William is survived by his wife Melba Janet (Dosher) Walsh and his five children; Sherilyn Walsh, Theresa Bourbeau, Bonnie Patsun and her husband William Patsun, Tracy Fahey and her husband Tom Fahey, William Donald Walsh, Jr. His 9 grandchildren; Travis Bourbeau, Amanda (Fahey) Messenger, Stacy Fahey, Billy Joe Patsun, Michael Patsun, Brian Patsun, Jeremy Patsun, Nikki Walsh, William J. Walsh along with his five great grandchildren; Isabella Bourbeau, Olivia Patsun, Alena Patsun, Mason Patsun, and Savannah Patsun along with many nieces and nephews, which are too many to list. William answered the call of duty and served his country in the U.S. Airforce from 1954 to 1962. While stationed in Clovis, NM he met his wife Melba of 68 years and later started a family in Connecticut. Prior to retiring, William was employed with Aero-All Gas in which his plans were only to be part time for one season, and he ending up retiring from Aero-All Gas after 39 years of employment. Once retired Bill and Melba enjoyed retirement in Lakeland, FL. In his free time, William's passion was motorcycles, and trains. He also had a passion for boating and hunting. He lived an adventurous life riding his Harley Davidson for well over 70 years up until the last few months of his life. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 with a Memorial Mass at 10:00 am in St. Patrick's Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish) Enfield, CT. followed by burial in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery with military honors.
