Amanda "Mandy Moo" Allen

Amanda Elizabeth "Mandy Moo" Allen, 44, of Meredosia, IL died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, in Sun Valley, NV. She was born Sept. 3, 1980, in Rushville, the daughter of Donald Perry and Mary Eileen (Sweeten) Allen Jr. She grew up in her grandparent's home, Donald and Eva Allen. She called Eva "Mom" and Eva was a big part of Mandy's life. She is survived by her father, Donald (Portia) Allen Jr. of San Diego, CA; her mother, Mary Holsman of Jacksonville; her aunt, big sister and best friend, Cathy Allen (partner Ed Chute) of Meredosia; her uncle whom she thought of as a brother, Gary Allen; her siblings, Brittany (Jake) Bolger of Dale, IN, Robert (Serena Campbell) Holsman Jr. of St. Croix, IN, Courtney (Adam) Mesner of Huntingburg, IN, Andrew (Amanda) Allen of Jacksonville, Diamond (Pierce) Saint Hill of Oceanside, CA, Exquisite (Cody) Samuels of Olive Branch, MS, and Donald Randall Alen of San Diego, CA; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mandy was a 1999 graduate of Meredosia-Chambersburg High School. She then studied graphic design at Western Nevada College. She had worked at Hertzberg New Method in Jacksonville, and then for Wal Mart in the Distribution Center in Reno, NV. Mandy was fun-loving and hard working, and had earned a double black-belt in Tae Kwan Do. She loved life and faced her battle with diabetes and other health issues the way she faced everything, with courage and determination. She loved being around kids, coloring her hair, and getting tattoos and piercings. Mandy will always hold a special place in her family's heart. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Meredosia, with burial at Oakland Cemetery.
