Carolyn Kay Carr

Carolyn Kay Carr, 82, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away on January 18, 2025 at 7:08 AM at Courtyard Estates of Bushnell. She was born March 13, 1942 in Abingdon, IL to Ivan & Hazel (Lenz) Zuck. She married Bernard Roger Carr in Bushnell, IL on April 22, 1962. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2024.
Surviving are two daughters, Deann (Rick) Hall of Astoria, IL; April (Tony) Tatham of Avon, IL; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Sami) Roach, Alexis (Josh Kumer) Roach, Holdyn Yerk, Dawson Hall, Bronson (Carly) Tatham, Brayden and Gracie Tatham; seven great-grandchildren Rylan, Adalynn and Sophia Kumer, Brooks, Ellie, and Tate Tatham and Westyn Roach; one brother, Ron (Jane) Zuck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Sharon Coates.
Carolyn worked at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Bushnell for 52 years, where she worked in many different capacities including teller, bookkeeper, and finally, as an assistant vice president. Even though those were her professional titles, she was really known for her welcoming personality and her ability to make everyone feel comfortable when working with her in any capacity. In addition, she was also very involved in many organizations in the community, including Mothers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, the Fall Festival Pie and Cake Auction Committee, and she gave much of her time to activities at the United Methodist Church of Bushnell. Carolyn helped in many capacities in the community including delivery of Meals on Wheels, donating time to the Bushnell Pool concession stand, donating pies to all fundraisers that were presented, and anything else she was asked to do. Overall, Carolyn was a giver to anyone and everyone, but especially her family. She never missed an event that her children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren were a part of and was supportive at all times. She loved with her whole heart and was loved right back in that same way.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday January 24, 2025 at the Bushnell United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Burwell officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday January 23, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home.
