Dale Young Obituary Dale Clifford Young, 90, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Dale was born on January 20, 1935, in Carthage, Illinois, the son of Chelso Clifford and Agnes Grace (Munson) Young. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Europe during the Korean Conflict, earning the rank of Corporal and his honorable discharge. On October 11, 1958, he was united in marriage to Joan Mitchell in Albia, Iowa. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2011. Dale was employed at Thomas Truck in Keokuk and Climax as a Plant Operator until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, he went on to work at Griffin Wheel as a part-time security guard. He enjoyed working around his house, tending to his yard, and remodeling. He was also an avid fisherman.
Dale is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Mike) Hamman of Nauvoo, Illinois; his son David Young of Burlington, Iowa; five grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Andrew) Goodman, Keri (Will) Marshall, Brandon Young, Jack Hamman and Olivia Hamman; three great-grandchildren: Addison, Everly and Liam Goodman; and his half-brother Mark Campbell of Vancouver, Washington. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, his infant son Michael and his stepbrother Richard Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home, 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, Iowa, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 am on Thursday at the funeral home directly before the service.
Memorials may be made to the family for his great-grandchildrens educations.
