Eddie Gosney Obituary

Edward Lee (Eddie) Gosney age 82 of Fitzgerald, GA passed away October 4, 2025 in Fitzgerald. He was born November 21, 1942 in Hannibal, MO the son of Marion Rollie and Anna Helen Little Gosney. He was a graduate of Monroe City High School Class of 1960. He served in the United States Navy 1960-1963 aboard the USS William R. Rush DD714 Cuba/Mediterranean Cruise. He married Teresa Martinez on March 14, 1964 in Jacksonville, Fl. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2016. Eddie lived in Florida and Georgia where he worked for Winn Dixie as Fleet Manager for many years. He enjoyed auctions, dancing, horses and mechanics. He also enjoyed reading and watching westerns. He looked forward to visits home to see his family in Missouri. He was a member of the VFW Post 4240 in Monroe City, MO. He is survived by his son Edward Lee Gosney, Jr and Rachel Lasher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a grandson Austin Gosney of Palm Bay, FL, a brother Dennis Gosney of Hunnewell, MO, nephew Travis (Lee) Gosney, nieces Suzette (Tim) Harker, Jodie (Billy Powell) Clarkson, Amanda (Drew) Honaker and a large extended family. He was proceed in death by his parents, his wife Teresa, brother Paul Gosney and sister-in-law Ginny Gosney. Visitation services will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 Saturday, November 15,2025 at the Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Memorials have been suggested to the Eddie Gosney, Sr. memorial fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri.
