Edith Barry Obituary
Surviving is one son, Steven R. Barry (Ashley Hart) of Franklin, IN; five grandchildren, Steven (Brandi) Barry of Houston, TX; Caleb (Aspen Flowers) Barry of Savannah, Ga; Marcus Barry of Macomb, IL; Sean Gabriel of Sanger, TX; Melissa Williams of Taylorville, IL; two Great Grandchildren: Jace Gabriel and Colt Gabriel of Sanger, TX.
Luans first career was with Western Illinois University where she began in 1951 and retired in 1984. She, along with her husband, Bob, established Barrys Taxi in 1977 operating until 2008. Luan attributed her good health and boundless energy to her friends within Mannatech and Shaklee.
Throughout her life, Luan found immense joy in the bonds she formed with others. Her hobbies included exploring the intricacies of kinship and connecting with people from all walks of life. Whether it was through family gatherings, community events, area sporting events, concerts, or simple conversations, Luan cherished every opportunity to learn about and from those around her. Her genuine interest in people and their stories was a testament to her warm and compassionate nature. Additionally, Luan had a deep love for Bible study and prayer groups. She found solace and inspiration in these gatherings, where she could share her faith and grow spiritually with others.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday January 28, 2025 at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Ingersol officiating. Visitation will be on Monday January 27, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm also at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the family of Luan Barry. Please sign the guestbook and leave condolences at www.dodsworthfh.com
