Irene Jones Obituary
She was born May 7, 1942, in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Ralph and Sarah Ann (Roberts) Muir. She married Billie Jones on December 8, 1962, in Winter Haven, California. He survives.
She is also survived by her children, Carl Jones of Avon, Illinois, Debra Martindale of Bushnell, Illinois, and William Jones of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Alan Jeffrey (Nikki) Coupland, Sara Lynne (Chaney) Ferguson, Paige (Preston) Coupland, Emily Jones, Amber (Jacob) Irish, Petra Jones, Bryce Jones, and Brynnyn Jones; and 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas (Patricia) Muir of Georgia, Diane (Ronald) Maschok of Pennsylvania, and Claudia (James) Burkhart of Folkston, Georgia.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John and Ralph Muir; her sister, Janet DeKlever; her son-in-law, Rob Martindale; and her daughter-in-law, Vicky Jones.
Irene worked as a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service in Blandinsville, Illinois. She was an avid sewer and especially gifted at quilting.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at Prairie City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bushnell First Baptist Church.
