James Trickler Obituary

James Trickler, age 80, of Lomax, died Monday, September 1, 2025, at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born June 5, 1945, in St. Joseph, MO, he was the son of Ralph and Faye Smith Trickler. James worked at the Case Corporation in Burlington for over 30 years and eventually retired from the company. He was a proud union member UAW Local 807. James was always on the move and spent a lot of time traveling - often down to Florida where he loved the water. He was very hardworking and enjoyed building things. He was happiest when he was on the river, fishing, boating or jet skiing. James had a good sense of humor and enjoyed playing tricks on people, especially around Halloween. He was a good cook and could make a great pot of chili or lasagna. Survivors include his children, Mike Trickler and Brenda Trickler; step-children Gregg Kerby, Kelly Schulz and Julie Lindeen; grandchildren, Trevor (Samantha) Johnson, Amber Fuchs, Sable Trickler, and Addison Trickler; five step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Lester) Hicks; sister-in-law, Bonnie Trickler; nieces, Jennifer Hicks and Kristina Hicks; nephews, Curtis Trickler and Christopher Trickler. Sadly, James was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Trickler; his brother, Ralph Trickler; and his parents. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Funeral Service. Funeral services are pending but will be published when they become available. Please continue to keep the Trickler family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
