Catherine Diane Buley

Catherine Diane Buley, 56, of Prairie City, Illinois, passed away at 11:32 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at HSHS St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She was born on June 13, 1968, in Macomb, Illinois, to Marjorie K. Serven. Surviving is her father, Bob (Pat) Buley of Bushnell, Illinois, and a large extended family including many aunts, uncles, and cousinsespecially her close and loving aunt, Jo and cousin, Sarah, with whom she shared a special bond. She was preceded in death by her mother; her maternal grandparents, Henry and Kate Serven; and her paternal grandparents, Jesse and Rosalie Buley. Catherine was a proud graduate of Bushnell-Prairie City High School. She dedicated much of her career to the food service industry, including 25 years with Sodexo at Western Illinois University, where she formed lasting friendships with many colleagues. Known for her fun-loving spirit, Catherine cherished her family, friends, and coworkers. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved Shiba Inu companions, whom she cared for with great devotion. Her strong will and resilience were a reflection of the generations who came before her. Catherine also enjoyed traveling, with a special fondness for visiting wildlife zoos along her journeys. Cremation rites have been accorded by Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. A celebration of Catherines life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday June 14, 2025 at the Experience Assembly of God Church in Bushnell with Pastor David Hughes officiating.
