Larry spent an impressive thirty-two years as set up and delivery at John Deere in both Palmyra and Quincy (Hull) locations. After Larry retired he went back to work at O'Reilly's Auto Parts as the local delivery driver for the last 15 years. Larry's dedication to his career was paralleled only by his commitment to living by the golden rule. His outgoing and friendly nature and his strong work ethic were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Beyond the workplace, Larry had a passion for skilled craftsmanship. His love for woodworking was matched by his enthusiasm for collecting John Deere tractor toys, a collection that was a testament to his loyalty to the brand.
Larry's love for the good things in life was anchored deeply in the joy he found in simpler pleasures. A true fan of the classic westerns, he would often be found engrossed in episodes of "Gunsmoke" or cheering on contestants in "The Price is Right." The rhythmic twang of old country music played in his radio with the voices of Porter Wagoner, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Barbara Mandrell.
Carnival cruises with his wife and visiting Branson and Las Vegas with family were among some of his life's adventures. Fishing soothed his soul, and camping at Bayview nurtured his deep connection with nature. Larry's weekends would often find him playing cards with friends.
Larry's life was a journey marked by joy, companionship, and a touch of adventure. His legacy is one crafted with care, lived with joy, and remembered with a smile.
Larry was a Baptist by Faith.
