Madysin Rash Obituary
Madysin 'Mady' Cambre Rash
January 22, 2002-October 30, 2025
Eternal rest was granted for Mady Rash, 23, formerly of Shelbina on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She passed away in her sleep at her current home in Fayette, Missouri. Mady was the middle child of Jeffrey C. and Jennifer 'Gilbert' Rash and was born in Kirksville, MO on January 22, 2002. They survive her.
She attended Shelby County R-IV schools all through her learning years. Mady was in the graduating Class of 2020. Due to COVID restrictions and protocols, her class barely had a Prom or Graduation ceremony.
Mady, who was on the Autism Spectrum, was challenged with many health issues. But always a trooper, she loved life and lived a short but good life. She was an active participant in the Special Olympics on Field and Track Day and basketball in her younger years. There was never a more avid Kansas City Chiefs fan than this girl. She ate and slept her wonderful Chiefs. Her favorites were #15 Patrick Mahomes and #87 Travis Kelce. She even had a Chiefs Christmas tree. She enjoyed going places, never content to land in one place for too long. She loved going to the movies, eating out and just spending time with her family. Mady loved going to the racetrack and watching her dad race. She dearly loved her dog, Kado.
Always wanting to be like her peers, Mady's personal goal was to live away from home and on her own. Through Braun Home, an Individualized Supported Living (ISL), Mady achieved her goal. Services included assistance with daily living, medical needs, and personal care. The time that she spent at the various day programs that Braun offered (Sunflower Meadows-Macon, Northern Lights-Kirksville and The Depot-Moberly), allowed her to meet people and make new friends. The day program outings were her favorite things to do.
Mady will be greatly missed by her parents; her big brother Montana (Nikki) Schoonover, nieces and nephew Rawlins, Riggins and Renlee; her younger brother, Masen Dale Rash. Also missing her will be her great-grandmothers Lydia Gilbert, Shirley King and Nancy Rash; as well as her grandparents: Walter (Valerie) Gilbert, Kathy Rash, Cecelia 'Cele' Gilbert. Her Aunts Faith Johnston, Abby (Wade) West, Haley (John Mark) Hatfield and Uncle Bryan Gilbert shared wonderful memories of their time with her. Mady will also be missed by great aunts and uncles and many cousins, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers: Jerry Rash, Herbert Gilbert, Donnie King and Julius Broughton; her great-grandmother, Ailene Broughton LaChance; and her grandpa, Terry Rash.
A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 3, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. As Madysin never went anywhere without a ball cap on, please celebrate her by wearing your favorite one. We also encourage anyone who would like to wear their Chiefs attire, to please feel free to do so. Madysin was a Baptized and Confirmed Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Mary's of Shelbina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father Dandi's St. Joseph the Worker Filipino Medical Charity Clinic, Neighbors Helping Neighbors of Shelby County or the donor's choice.
