Phillip Thompson Obituary
Also surviving are three children, Tonda (Matt) Speer of Bushnell, Shane (Melisa) Thompson of Macomb, Lindsay Thompson of Bushnell; 11 grandchildren, Anthony (Sam Dawe) Thompson, Bri Davis, Hunter (Hannah Clark) Thompson, Jenna Thompson, Morgan Thompson, Layne Thompson, Logan Zeisler, Maxton Speer, Devin Masten, Dezaray (Tyler Hettich) Thompson, Dexx Fenner; 6 great-grandchildren, Emma McCormick, Gavin Zeisler, Luna Mack, Graeyson Adam, Dedrick Hettich, Aurora Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Beverly Horman and Joseph Thompson, and mother-in-law Beverly Lindsey.
Phillip enjoyed years of coaching girls and boys softball and baseball and helping with Boys Scouts. He loved watching his grandchildren play all kinds sports. He loved his family with all his heart. He was a proud member of the Bushnell Christian Church. He was also a proud Army Vietnam Veteran. He served his country from 1968-1971. He was a member of the Bushnell VFW. He worked many years in Bushnell at Norforge and retiring from Vaughn and Bushnell. He was a diehard St Louis Cardinals fan, Fighting Illini fan and a Green Bay Packer fan in which he tried to convert some people into being a packer fan without success.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday March 22, 2025 at the Bushnell Township Cemetery, will full Military Rites. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bushnell Christian Church or MDH Hospice. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
