Scott Vogt Obituary
Scott Anthony Vogt, 67, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at his home in Sullivan, Missouri after battling multiple health issues through the years. Born on January 27, 1958, in Washington, Missouri, to Kermith and Frances (Dixon) Vogt, Scott was a man whose infectious enthusiasm and industrious spirit left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His journey ended in his hometown of Sullivan where he had returned to make his final home.
Scott's formative years were spent in Sullivan, where he attended local schools and graduated from Sullivan High School in 1976. As a youth, Scott was known for his love of baseball-an interest that taught him the value of teamwork and ignited his competitive spirit. Following his high school graduation, he pursued further education at Southeast Missouri State University, where he earned his Associate's Degree in Architectural Design. This academic achievement laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
After college, Scott married his wife, Janet, and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lauren. In the early years of his adult life, Scott joined his family's business, Marketing "10" Inc. where they became known for selling "The Robby" Vapor System, in St. Charles, Missouri. His work in sales revealed his ambitious nature, and he quickly became an integral part of the company's growth. As time went on, Scott's career took him to the picturesque shores of Chesapeake Bay, Maryland where they opened their Washington D.C. office. His son, Aaron was born to Scott and his second wife, Renae in 2004 after he returned to St. Charles when the D.C. office closed. Scott was a devoted father to his two children, Lauren and Aaron, and his love for them was profound and unwavering.
Scott eventually obtained his General Contractor's license and formed his company, Vogt Enterprises. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Scott recognized a need and moved his business to Hammond, Louisiana. His tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit were evident in every venture he undertook. Despite his success, Scott faced health challenges such as losing his sight. This was attributed to diabetes and soon after he incurred neuropathy in his feet and hands forcing him to close his company. Scott then decided to move to Fort Lauderdale, FL where his mother, Fran could care for him. As his health continued to decline, together they decided moving back to Sullivan would be best for his healthcare. In July of 2023 they settled back to home in Sullivan.
Throughout his life, Scott was known for his ambition and industrious nature. He approached his work with passion, embracing the challenges and thrills that came with each new project.
Scott is survived by his children, Lauren Vogt and husband, Jaan of Atlanta, GA and Aaron Vogt of Hammond, LA; two grandsons: Terrell Ivy and Nassir; his mother, Fran Vogt-Strauss of Sullivan, MO; three brothers: Matthew Vogt of Villa Ridge, MO, Marc Vogt of Sullivan, MO, and Kyle Vogt of Los Angelas, CA; and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends.
