Sharon Knickerbocker Obituary
Sharon M. Knickerbocker, 86, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 5:10 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Graveside Services and Burial will be at 11:30 AM, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.
Sharon was born November 6, 1938, in Hannibal, MO to Paul A. Herring and Juanita R. Elder Herring.
She was married to John "Jack" Knickerbocker on May 7, 1966, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death October 15, 2015.
Survivors include her two sons, Kevin L. Knickerbocker (Amy J.) of Hannibal, MO, and Mark Knickerbocker (Melissa Sims) of Hannibal, MO; one brother, Russell Herring (Yvonne) of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Myranda Coffey (Sean), Sarah Knickerbocker, and Hannah Knickerbocker; one great grandchild, Weston Coffey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon was a homemaker and later worked part-time at The Famous in downtown Hannibal.
Sharon had a talent for sewing; she lovingly crafted doll clothes and pillows. Her artistic touch extended to her home, which she decorated for every season, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that welcomed family and friends. Her collection of chicken figurines and pictures was displayed with pride, each piece telling a story, each a testament to her unique taste and sense of humor. Traveling was one of Sharon's greatest pleasures, especially the adventures she took with her husband on their motorcycle. Their journeys to Yellowstone and the House on the Rock were among her favorites. Sharon's was an exceptional cook, and her homemade noodles became a cherished holiday tradition, eagerly anticipated by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Above all, Sharon was a family woman, a devoted grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for her loved ones. She took immense pleasure in teaching her grandchildren to sew and cook, passing on skills that were not just practical but were also threads that wove her family together. Sharon will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Sharon was Christian by faith.
