Shirley Ann Paul

Shirley Ann Paul, 87, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away on Sunday June 16, 2024 at Courtyard Estates in Bushnell. Shirley was born on February 27, 1937 at the family farm near Lima, Illinois to Truman and Oral (Schmitt) Wollbrink. Shirley married George Paul on August 11, 1957 in Tioga, Illinois.
Surviving to mourn her passing are her husband, son Stephen (Deanna) Paul of Bushnell, grandsons Garry (Jenny) Paul of Lathrop, Missouri, Evan Paul of Bushnell, 6 great-grandchildren Aaliyah Paul, Tyler Paul, BreAnna Paul, Kyler Simon, Addi King and Mason Paul, and Debbie Klinedinst, a caring and helpful friend of Shirley at Courtyard.
Shirley was preceded in her passing by her parents and one great-grandson Garrett Paul.
Shirley graduated Valedictorian of the class of 1954 from Warsaw High School. She went on to college, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from WIU in 1958. Shirley taught at East Elementary in Bushnell for 28 years, retiring in 1992.
Shirley was a past member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Bushnell Womens Club and the National Education Association. She was an active member of the Victor Rebekah Lodge 385 of Bushnell, serving many terms as secretary. She held the office of District Deputy serving on numerous committees of the Rebekah State Assembly.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Private burial of ashes will be held in the Bushnell Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the East Elementary Activities Fund.
