William Linnenbrink, Jr. Obituary

William H. Linnenbrink, Jr., 67, Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 5:28 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. He was born on March 10, 1958 in Fort Madison, IA to William H. & Ruth E. Sandbothe Linnenbrink, Sr. He married Rebecca L. Strunk Soppe on April 25, 2000 in Carthage, IL. He was first and foremost a farmer but also worked in production at the DuPont Company for 38 ½ years. During his time at DuPont, he was also a farrier. He enjoyed farming and grew beans, corn and hay and also tended to pigs, cows, chickens and horses. He also was devoted to land stewardship with a tree farm, pollinator fields and restoration of his family's century barn. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus and Iowa Farm Bureau. Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor and quick, boisterous laugh. Bill is survived by: his wife, Becky Linnenbrink of Fort Madison and his stepdaughter, Renee Soppe of Fort Madison, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Ryan Soppe. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church. The funeral mass for Bill will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
