Daniel Guy Obituary

Editor's Note: Daniel "Dan" Robert Guy Jr. helped launch the new 97.9 WHAV Sept. 21, 2016 as he oversaw the Silver Hill transmitter site on the day of transmitter and antenna installation. He went on to provide engineering services over the years, including moving WHAV's studios back to its ancestral studios in downtown Haverhill during the fall of 2022.

Daniel "Dan" Robert Guy Jr. passed away on Friday, July 12, in his home. He was born on Jan. 14, 1957, to Daniel Guy Sr. and Lila Guy née Cavanagh and was a lifetime resident of Nashua NH.

Dan is survived by his children Margaret Rocca née Guy, Monica Savoie née Guy and Daniel Guy III; grandchildren Finn Savoie and Lila Rocca; extended family including his cousins Tammi Perusse and Pat Fish; lifelong friends Tom Kallechey and Matthew Sobolewski and his beloved dog Swiper. Dan was predeceased by his other beloved dog Paco.

Dan graduated from Bishop Guertin High School and went on to have an extensive career in radio and broadcast engineering. Dan was known for his love of music, talk radio, and his unique sense of humor.

SERVICES: No services are currently planned. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Dan and I were close for almost 50 yrs. I am his "kiddo" we met at WLLH in the 70s, he asked me out to dinner the rest is history. He was the most loving giving man I knew.
