Jamie Rooney

HAVERHILL - Jamie P Rooney, 52, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 doing what he loved, in a snowmobile accident.
Born on March 9, 1972 in Lynn, MA to Janice (Sonia) Healey and Daniel Rooney Jr, he later relocated to Merrimac, MA. After graduating from Whittier Vocational Technical High School, he worked in plumbing, then HVAC, where he spent the next thirty years building many relationships and earning the respect of others in the HVAC community. Jamie's proudest work accomplishment was owning his own business for the past ten years.
Jamie was incredibly proud of his two sons, Corey and Kyle. He loved coaching their baseball and hockey teams when they were children. As adults though, their competition was fierce. Whether it was playing a game of Cribbage, pool, or a round of golf out on the course, the three of them loved to compete against each other.
For the last eight years, Jamie cherished his time with the love of his life, his wife Christine. They loved spending weekends at their camp and vacationing together, whether it be on a cruise or on a trip, especially to their favorite place, Aruba. In his spare time, Jamie took great pride in redoing all the rooms in their home, making it special for Christine and Olivia.
Jamie and Olivia had a special bond. He was always giving her advice or teasing her about something. He taught her so much about life and she is forever grateful.
Jamie loved going to Florida to visit his mom and Dave. He always looked forward to those visits where they would share many laughs and rounds of golf.
Jamie was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. If he loved you, you knew it. He would light up any room he entered and could always make you laugh. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Although our hearts are broken, we find some comfort in knowing Jamie is with his sweet baby girl, Janell. May they rest in eternal peace.
Jamie is survived by his wife Christine and stepdaughter Olivia McQuesten, his sons and their wives, Corey and Erika Rooney, Kyle and Chrissy Rooney, his mother Janice and her long term partner David Sweeney, mother-in-law Carol Dutton, brother-in-law Michael Dutton and his partner Camille Platt, sister-in­ law Dawn and her husband Brian Johnson, his father Daniel Rooney Jr, his brother Daniel Rooney Ill, many wonderful uncles, aunts, cousins, co-workers and countless friends.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Janell, his loving grandparents John and Leona Sonia, Daniel and Jean Rooney and his father-in-law Donald Dutton.

Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, February 9, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Words of Remembrance will begin at 4:00 PM. Private family interment will be in Linwood Cemetery.
