Antonio Carlos Nascimento, age 85, of Quincy, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:51 a.m. in Blessing Hsopital.
Tony was born August 19, 1935 in Sao Paulo, Brasil, the son of Antonio Baptista and Eurides (nee: Dos Santos) Nascimento.
Tony was born and raised in Brasil where he attended Catholic School during his elementary years, finishing his education in the United States. Tony went onto serve in the U.S. Army Corps from 1958-1960 teaching Spanish and Portuguese. After serving in the military, he then attended Pace University in New York to study Computer and Information Science. In 1963 he became a Patrolman with the New York City Police Department. He was a proud and dedicated officer until his retirement from the force in 1983. After retiring Tony moved back to Brasil where he met and married Dolores Jose Camargo. They were married on July 20, 1984 in Votuporanga, Brasil. While living in Brasil Tony was a member of the Knight of Columbus and became an amateur pilot. The Nascimento's relocated to Quincy in 1997 where they remained, but would often travel to Brasil to visit family. Tony enjoyed woodworking in his later years and would often gift pieces to his grandchildren, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Dolores, include: eight children: William "Bill" Nascimento of GA; Patricia Nascimento of NJ; Anthony (Lisa) Nascimento of NJ; Mary Ellen (James) Cafaro of NJ; Elizabeth Nascimento D'avanzo of NY; Michael Anthony Nascimento; Thomas Edward Nascimento; and Carlos E. Nascimento of St. Charles, MO; 13 grandchildren: Nicholas D'avanzo, Jordan Eurides (Juan) Andrade, Billy Nascimento, Paul Nascimento, Kelli Defelice, Thomas Defelice, James Cafaro, Alison Cafaro, Matthew Nascimento, Ryan Nascimento, Riley Baker, Khloey O'Johnson, and Kiley O'Johnson; two great grandchildren, Onyx and Roma Andrade; and a sister, Laura Carder.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, precious "Daddy's Girl", Nadia Nascimento.
