C. Haskins Obituary

C. Elaine Haskins, 92, of Quincy, died at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 21, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.

Born Nov. 25, 1921 in Quincy, Elaine was a daughter of Vollie and Marie McNay Adair. She married Forrest Haskins Sr. on Aug. 8, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. He died May 1, 2001.

Elaine was a member of Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church.

An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Elaine also enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles and golfing in her younger years. She loved music and enjoyed playing the organ.

A 1939 graduate of Quincy High School, Elaine had been employed at the Hosiery Mill prior to her marriage. She then devoted her life to raising her family and cherished the time she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Haskins (Linda) of Quincy, Cecil E. Haskins (Cathy) of Loraine and Forrest Haskins Jr. (Teri) of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three daughters, Neysa Turpin (Gary) of Coatsburg, Marsha Bunge (Randy) of Golden and Pamela Noble of St. Peters, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, Andrea Rodriguez (Jose'), Natasha Johnson (Ryan), Kimberly Alford (James), Angela Hahn, Michael Cummings (Hatter), Michelle Ward (Stacey), Melanie Behrens, Christopher Haskins (Michelle), Chad Haskins (Jenny), Chuck Haskins (Becky), Jack Haskins, Paige Haskins, Lindsey Burnett (Ryan) and Ashley Randolph (Jake); 15 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Rusher, Alexis Haskins, Joshua Alford, Faith Alford, Kenai Plocher, Austin Haskins, Cora Haskins, Eli Cummings, Sophie Cummings, Devin Rodriguez, Jayden Rodriguez, Adelaide Morrison, Annalise Morrison, Avery Morrison and Kaydence Randolph; one great-great-grandchild, Adriee Rusher; six stepgrandchildren, Heather Hawley (Matt), Ryan Bunge (Leslie), Justin Bunge, Jason Turpin (Michelle), Angel Solak and Landon Randolph; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren, Brooke Nicole Woodard, Saige Johnson, Triton Johnson, Tyler Hawley, Leah Hawley, Blaise Bunge, Jordan Welch, Megan Welch, Mallory Welch, Bailey Welch, Hayley Turpin, Mackenzie Turpin, Braedon Solak and Jacob Solak; a stepgreat-great-granchild, Isabella Welch; a niece, Deveril Rennels (Jim); and eight great-nieces and great-nephews including, Billy Garrison III, Chris Goetjen (John) and Gayle Montana (Matthew).

Mrs. Haskins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest; a grandson, Alvie Jerome Haskins Jr.; a son-in-law, Mark Allen; a brother, Robert Adair; a sister, Arlene Wilkins; and a nephew, Billy Garrison II.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Ron Cox. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and until the time of services Saturday morning in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church.

ARRANGEMENTS: Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

I will miss Elaine who always had a smile at every visit. What a special and sweet lady she was. So very sorry to the entire family for your loss.

Elaine you will be truly missed. You had such a warm heart, and you were a very loving person. I am so honored and blessed to of known you.
