David A. Kleemeyer

WARSAW, ILL. -- David A. Kleemeyer, 61, of Warsaw, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at North Adams Home in Mendon.

David was born April 24, 1956, in Quincy, to the late Elmer Kleemeyer and Bertie (McClelland) Kleemeyer. He worked for 28 years in construction, spent 10 years as a commercial fisherman and was the owner and operator of Red Dog Saloon in Meyer for five years.

David loved anything to do with the outdoors. He enjoyed painting, fishing, woodworking and hunting.

Survivors include his mother, Bertie Kleemeyer of Mendon; two children, Todd (Heather) Kleemeyer of Winfield, Iowa, and Laurie Tucker of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Collin Schmitt, Lily Kleemeyer, Lucy Kleemeyer and Brinley Tucker; two brothers, James (Candy) Kleemeyer of Lima and Mark Kleemeyer of Mendon; three sisters, Charlotte McKenzie of Quincy, Sue Ellen Mohr of Quincy and Mary Kleemeyer of Rushville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at First Congregational Church of Mendon with the Rev. Larry Smith conducting. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the grandchildren's education fund.
