David Turner, age 86, of
Hannibal, MO passed away at 8:15 am Saturday, April 5, 2025, at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Grand View Funeral Home. Pastor Eric Carlson will officiate. Burial, with full military honors provided by Emmett J. Shields American Legion Post #55, will be in the Grand View Burial Park.
A Visitation celebrating David's life will be held 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Grand View Funeral Home.
David was born on December 21, 1938, in Decatur, IL, the son of Ambrose and Mildred (VanFossan) Turner, they precede him in death.
He was united in marriage to Deborah (Braddy) Turner on May 29, 2004, in
Hannibal, MO.
He is survived by his Wife, Deborah Turner of Hannibal. Two Sons, Mark Turner (Brandi) of
Hannibal, MO, Dustin Zima of
Hannibal, MO; Two Daughters, Melissa Foster of
Hannibal, MO, Jenny Curtis (Tony) of
Hannibal, MO; Three Grandsons, Max Turner (Nicci), Miles Turner, Gabriel Foster; Two Granddaughters, Corinne Dudgeon (Christian), and Meredith Curtis. And a Great-Grandson, Hollis Dudgeon.
David served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Professionally David was an insurance salesman.
David was a member of the Early Morning Kiwanis, YMCA, and Emmett J. Shields American Legion Post #55.
David loved the outdoors. He loved to be in a canoe or out on the river fishing. A source of lifelong memories for the family are the camping trips they would go on. Travel was an immense joy to David as well, and something that he passed down to his kids. He loved to eat and enjoyed getting dressed up for fine dining on a Friday or Saturday night. David loved his dogs Buddy and Annie. More than anything though was David's love for his family. He had a strong will, and was an excellent provider and father, and grandfather.
