Donald A. Flinspach Jr, 75, of Quincy, Illinois passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024.
Don Jr is survived by Ursula R., his wife of 52 years, his son, Donald A. Ill, and a nephew, Andrew of Oklahoma. Don's parents, Helen and Don Sr, his older sister, Regina, and two younger brothers George and Chuck, await him in Heaven. Don Jr was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, November 11, 1949.
Don Jr worked for the City Engineering Department of Quincy for many years. Moving onto the Army Corps of Engineers, traveling up and down the Mississippi River until his retirement.
He was a devoted patriot all his life. Beginning in 1968 as a US Navy Corpsman and after honorable discharge joined the local National Guard. He then transferred to the Army Reserve and received Office Candidate School training in Springfield. After 25 years in the reserves, he retired as Major.
Don Jr was an avid history buff, enjoyed reading, gardening, drafting, and woodworking. He enjoyed playing the bagpipes.
A memorial service has not yet been arranged as his demise occurred in Kansas City.
In honor of Don's lifelong commitment to the military, donations may be given, in his memory, to John Wood Community College Foundation for Veterans.
