Donald "Donnie" Hendrickson, age 62, of Mendon, Illinois, passed away at 2:24 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Born June 8, 1963, in Quincy, Illinois, Donnie was the son of William and Donna (Jones) Hendrickson. On July 27, 1985, he married the love of his life, Kelly Caley, in Loraine, Illinois. Their 40 years together were built on devotion, hard work, and a deep love for family.
A 1981 graduate of Unity High School, Donnie worked briefly in masonry before spending the majority of his career with Kohl Wholesale in Quincy. He was known for his dependability, strong work ethic, and pride in providing for his family.
Though he enjoyed hunting and time outdoors-especially during deer season-Donnie's greatest joy was his family. He was a steady, loving presence, always ready to lend a hand and happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His grandchildren were the center of his world. His legacy of generosity lives on through his decision to donate his kidneys and liver to help others.
Surviving are his wife, Kelly; mother-in-law, Louise Caley of Loraine; children, Kyle (Emily) Hendrickson of Mendon and Brooke (Jake Nelson) Valentine of Camp Point; grandchildren, Sadie Shoemaker, Nash Hendrickson, Deyton & Scarlett Valentine, and Jettson Nelson; brother, Ronald (Tracey Potter) Hendrickson of Lima; sisters, Pamela (Michael) Clow of Fowler, Deborah (James) Durst of Quincy, Michelle Marlin of Keokuk; and sister-in-law Kim (Daren) Moore of Loraine; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Don Caley; sisters, Patricia and Vicky Hendrickson; and brother-in-law, Tim Marlin.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois, with Rev. Sheri Renner officiating. Interment will follow at Mendon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to his grandchildren's education fund. Checks may be made payable to Kelly Hendrickson. You are invited to share your condolences with the family at www.triplettfuneralhomes.com

Donnie was a great man and awesome co-worker at Kohl Wholesale. I will always remember his quiet but stern persona until you proved your worth to him, after that all bets were off and the joking and laughing persona appeared. He will be missed. I send my heartfelt condolences to Kelly and the family
