Ean Reinold Obituary

Ean Michael Reinold, 19, of Quincy, was born Nov. 13, 1997, in Quincy, a son of Holly Reinold and her companion, Eric Engle, who was "Dad" to Ean. On Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, Ean was out on the river doing what he loved, when his fishing boat capsized. After extensive search efforts by emergency crews, his body has not yet been recovered.

At age 9, Ean began working at The Herald-Whig delivering newspapers. At 15, he went on to work at the Tower of Pizza, and he most recently had worked at Stratus Foods, a division of ADM.

He was a 2016 graduate of Quincy High School. Ean was a member of the Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fishermen's Association. An avid sportsman, he was a field staffer for Rok Outdoorz and participated in duck- and goose-calling competitions in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. He had traveled twice to Canada for hunting trips.

Ean began shooting trap at age 8 with the Youth Trap League at the Quincy Gun Club. He attended state and national championships four years in a row.

He played for the Stix and Stones pool team for well over three years in local pool leagues, and he was a competitive tractor puller with Xcaliber Tractor Pullers Association. During these competitions, Ean was pulling his great-grandfather and grandfather's Minneapolis Moline tractor called "the Road Runner."

Ean was family oriented, and to him, everyone was family. He was always ready to do whatever he could to help someone. He lived his life striving to be the best at whatever he did.

Survivors include his mom, Holly (Eric Engle) Reinold of Quincy; grandparents, Donna and Steve Wiewel and Bob and Linda Reinold, all of Quincy; his brothers and sister, Ethan, Emma, Blake and Hayden; aunts and uncles, including Chris and Jamie Reinold of Paducah, Ky.; and cousins, including Gwen and Ava Reinold, Taylor (Zach) Rickman, Kaleb and Noah Reinold; and numerous other cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Rob and Tammy Reinold.

I remember him and his brother I used to live next to their grandma. He was a really nice guy it's sad to see a person you knew when you were younger passed away. I'm sorry for the loss to everyone in his family because I know it hurts I just hope it gets better.

We are so lucky to have met you, Ean! Although we didn't know you for very long you made a big impact on our lives.. your visit to Canada left us with sore bellies and not a dry eye in the room. You were so funny, and the stories you'd tell were unbelievable! You were so proud of everything you did and loved to share stories and show us videos of your tractor pulling or hunts you've been on. You were such a fantastic young man and we will definitely miss you up here in Canada! Hugs to all
