Elizabeth Minear-Baker Obituary

Our sweet angel Elizabeth Ann Minear-Baker laid herself down and went with her Lord at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017.

She was born in Rock Island on July 26, 1989, a daughter of Edwin Lee and Stacie Ballard Minear Sr. On June 18, 2016, she married Bradley M. Baker and he survives.

DeDee, as she was called by her family and friends, was a loving mother, excellent housewife, devoted friend, beautiful and kind daughter and sister. She was a 2008 graduate of Quincy High School and attended John Wood Community College for two years. She attended the Crossing and was a member and speaker for Care Net.

Her love, her beauty and her charm will be sorely missed by all who knew her. DeDee's smile captured the whole room, her laughter made your day and her beauty stopped people in their tracks. Her mom, Stacie, knows that DeDee would want her to let everyone know that "she loved you all, and to please remember our happy times." Stacie "is proud to have given the world the pleasure of our daughter, if only for a minute. Please remember her for the amazing woman she was. We will miss you, Baby Girl!"

In addition to her husband, Bradley, survivors include her children, Elijah, Cameron, Wyatt and her baby, Frankie William Baker, who was due in June and who died with his mom on Saturday; her mother and stepfather, Stacie and Randy Sparks; her stepmother, Cheryl Minear Hester; her grandparents, Bill (Georgian) Ballard and Judy Sparks; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mike and Jill Baker; siblings, Matthew (Julia) Ballard, Marcus (Amanda) Ballard, Eddie Minear Jr., Mick Minear, Royal and Missy Minear, Dawn Bryner, Sabreena (Todd) Dusenberry, Brandy Dean Harper and Dawn Michelle Bryner; a sister-in-law, Abby (Jeremy) Baker-Hively; nieces and nephews, Matt Ballard II, Miah Ballard, Destiny and Addisun Ballard, Jaiden Minear, Kayle and Ashley Minear, Blake and Megan Dusenberry, Dean and Hannah Harper, Kelsey Bryner, Keenan Shorter, Ben Baker, Hayden and Paige Hively, Ameria and Alonzo Rashad, and Blake, Cora and Olivia Oshner; her cousins, Aubrey Gordan, Jeremy Minear, Sean Minear, Larry Bital, Christopher, Lauren and Neeva Ballard, Devin (Liz) Oshner, Abbie Oshner and Derek Oshner; and aunts and uncles, Victor (Sherrie) Oshner, Steve (Lisa) Ballard, Bea Minear, Kenny Minear, Chuck Minear, Bob (Cheryl) Cravens, Jerry Minear, Daryl (Sally) Ballard, Geri (Bill) Hale, Sharon (Jim) Otto, Bill (Michelle) Keck and John (Pam) Keck. Her best friends, Jessica Cross, Abbie Oshner and Megan Altgilbers, survive along with numerous other friends and family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin L. Minear Sr.

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your lossmy thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Rest in peace beautiful angel!

When you speak of her, speak not with tears, for thoughts of her should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort, for her life was rich because of you. Author Unknown
