Jimmie J. "Jim" Fierge, age 80, of Quincy, died on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 12:25 am in Sunset Home.
Jim was born on September 20, 1942, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Russell and Marian Oberling Fierge. He married on Fran Belyea in 1960. He then married Kay Marshall on September 3, 1977. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2004.
Jim was a 1960 graduate of Quincy High School. He was employed as a driver at Gem City Ready Mix for 35 years, until his retirement.
Jim loved being outdoors, whether that meant working on cars or scrapping, he just loved being outside. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing cards and going to the riverboat casino. He loved his cats and enjoyed food.
Jim is survived by five children, Lisa Edwards of Quincy, Lori (Rick) Harrett of Las Vegas, NV, Lana Jo Prusinski of Las Vegas, NV, Michelle Marshall of Liberty, IL, and James "Jamie" (Misty) Fierge of Quincy; 10 grandchildren, Mathew Koehler of Las Vegas, NV, Kenzie (Bill) Bates of Mendon, IL, Zeavon (Heather) Eston of Clinton, IL, Cody Harrett, Elisha (Jessica) Prusinski, and Nathaniel Prusinski, all of Las Vegas, NV, and Jimmie Fierge, Faith Fierge, Hope Fierge, and Garrett Fierge, all of Quincy; four great-grandchildren, Destiny, Devon, Elie and Lanie; three great-Great-grandchildren, Wade, Zuri and Zayla; a brother, Randy (Sebby) Fierge of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Kay, he was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Pete, Russell Jr., and Larry.
Visitation: 10:00 am to NOON on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Service: 12:00 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Fierge officiating.
Burial: Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, Illinois
