Kathryn Hill Obituary

GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. -- Kathryn Bertha Hill, 95, of Griggsville, formerly of Findlay and Shelbyville, Ill., died at 5:37 p.m. Friday (April 4, 2014) in Liberty Village/Pittsfield Manor in Pittsfield.

She was born in Findlay on April 5, 1919, to Bert and Sara Bixler Tinnea. She married Glenn Hill July 1, 1939, on St. Charles, Mo.

During World War II, she worked for two years at the Savanna Ordinance Proving Grounds and later worked for Sta-Rite Hairpin Co. in Shelbyville for 10 years and General Electric Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1970.

She is survived by one niece, Yvonne Brooks and family of Decatur, and very dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Rawlings of Jacksonville and Ike "Richard" and Linda Downs of Shelbyville.

Her husband, parents, brother and sister preceded her in death.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Thursday in the Findlay Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin Ray officiating.

MEMORIALS: Findlay Cemetery or the charity of choice.
