Larry J. Scott

Larry J. Scott, age 65, of Quincy, died peacefully in his home, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Larry was born October 11, 1958, in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Gordie and Nadine Bradley Scott. He married Michelle Dittmer on August 27, 1988, in St. Peters Lutheran Church in Coatsburg, IL.

Larry was a graduate of Paris High School in Paris, MO. He worked primarily as a route salesman for various companies including: Coca-Cola, Gallaway Distributing (7-Up), Dolly Madison Bakery, Zee Medical, and Wonderbread. Most recently, he worked as a truck driver for Kenan-Advantage Group. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Coatsburg, IL. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Larry was a devoted family man. His grandsons were his pride and joy.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Michelle, include: two daughters, Karrie Scott of Camp point, IL, and Danielle Scott of Quincy; three grandsons, Cooper and Bennett Brown, and Sawyer Scott; two special cousins, Emma Jo Raines and Dale Dowell; his in laws, Edward and Judy Dittmer; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Dittmer and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Gary Scott; a niece, Stephanie Scott, a nephew, Michael Scott; and a brother-in-law, Michael Dittmer.

The family would like to give special thanks to all staff at the Pulmonary Rehab Group at Blessing Hospital, and to Blessing Home Health (especially Ashley), for all the kind and compassionate care given to Larry over the years.

The family requests that all services be casual dress and strongly encourages everybody to wear their Cardinals and Chiefs attire.

Visitation: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday September 22, 2024, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Services: 10:00 am Monday, September 23, 2024, at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Patricia Reep officiating. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery.
