Michael L. Bottorff, 66, of Quincy, IL, passed away at 8:53 am Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his home.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL. Chaplain Dave Hall will officiate.
The family is being served by the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy.
Michael was born May 11, 1956, in Quincy, IL to Ralph C. and Connie (Guyatt) Bottorff.
He was married to Pam O'Neal on November 27, 1984. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Connie Bottorff; one son, Ian Bottorff; one brother, Danny Bottorff; one niece, Lindsey Lentz; one great-nephew, Jack; and one cousin, Rose Shanahan.
Michael was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; one brother, Donald Bottorff; and his cat, Chunky.
Michael attended Southeastern Illinois College, Southern Illinois University, and Roosevelt University in Chicago, where he graduated with honors.
He went on to work as a tow truck driver, first at Port Arthur Towing in Port Arthur, TX for 3 years, followed by Toups Towing in New Orleans, LA for 6 years, and most recently for Hoffman Towing in St. Louis, MO for 8 years.
In his spare time, Michael enjoyed playing the guitar and saxophone, fishing and hanging out down by the river, reading Stephen King books, and watching old Westerns like Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed indulging in food from his favorite restaurant, Maid Rite.
Michael attended Central Baptist Church in Quincy as a young man.
