Nancy Michaels Obituary

QUINCY -- Nancy E. (Green) Michaels, 77, formerly of Quincy, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, in Overland Park, Kan.

Nancy was born Oct. 17, 1938, to Herbert and Irma (Worttman) Green in Quincy. She met John Michaels Sr. while attending Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. John and Nancy were married Aug. 19, 1961.

She graduated from Central Methodist in 1960 and worked for many years in the Granite City School District.

Nancy is survived by two sons, John Michaels Jr., his wife, Jamie (Craft) Michaels, and grandchildren, Kylie and Kendall of Olathe, Kan., and Dr. Robert Michaels, his wife, Deborah (Cole) Michaels, and grandchildren, Carly and Cole of Eureka, Mo. Her siblings include sisters, Jeanette (Green) and husband Ed Schwan of Lake Pleasant, N.Y. and Sue (Green) and husband Gary Sprouse of Buford, Ga.; and a brother, Ron Green and wife Marcia (Schneider) of Quincy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, and her parents.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. John's Cathedral, 3728 Payson Road, Quincy. Graveside services will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: American Cancer Society.

We have lost a very special person who always had a smile for you where ever she was. I spent many mornings with Nancy walking to school after meeting at 14th and Kentucky St.and even more fun and many other hours together with our friends in Quincy. Now Rest in Peace and Comfort. I grew up with the Green family in church back in the 50's. I'm so sorry to learn of Nancy's death and I send my condolences to all the family.
