Norma H. Shotts, 95 of Surprise, AZ died on Sunday March 22, 2026, at the Love and Care Assisted Living Facility. Mrs. Shotts was born November 18,1930, in Redmond, Illinois the daughter of Herman S. and Lota H. Carroll. She married William S. Shotts, December 6, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters Lucille Bland, Louise Hale, Evelyn O'Rouke, Ruth Yates and three brothers Cecil Carroll, Glenn Carroll, and David Carroll.
Mrs. Shotts worked alongside her husband in his ministry. She filled in where there was a need from leading the singing, playing the piano or organ, singing solos, directing the choir, to teaching Sunday school classes. She also served on the District Missionary Council for several years.
Mrs. Shotts worked at Illini Hospital as a nurse's aid which sparked her desire to be a nurse. Much later she went to nursing school and became an LPN. She loved her work and worked several years past retirement age. She volunteered at Illini Community Hospital for several years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, crocheting, knitting and also attending home extension classes. One joy of her life was spending precious time with her family and friends. She enjoyed each visit lovingly.
She is survived by three children and spouses: William E. Shotts of Estes Park, CO, Pamela H. and Robert Stevens of Surprise, AZ, and Reverend Stephen A. and Janice Shotts of North East, MD.
Seven grandchildren and their spouses survive: Brian L. and Erica Shotts of Windham, CT; Christopher J. and Anita Shotts of Estes Park, CO; Melanie A. and Jon Robert Burdick of Estes Park, CO; Staci L. and Sammuel Smock of Longmont, CO; Amanda B. and Jon Espina of San Diego, CA; Kerri Shotts of North East, MD; Melinda L. and Christopher Scott of North East, MD; in addition to fifteen great grandchildren: William Kodi Shotts, Alexandra L. and Jeff Talbot, Brian Cole Shotts, Sean Liam Shotts, Kadynce J. Shotts, Creed J. Shotts, Jonah M. and Cami Burdick, Olivia T. Tom, Sophia Q. Smock, Mikayla J. Espina, Ava Espina, Luke D. Scott, William S. Scott, Owen M. Scott, Kadalynn H. Scott. Two great great grandchildren Jace Talbot and Oliver Talbot. Mrs. Shotts is also survived by one sister Shirley A. Loew of Marshall, IL.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with visitation held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Pittsfield, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pittsfield Church of the Nazarene.
