Oneta Primm Obituary

Oneta Elizabeth Primm, age 89, of Loveland, CO and formerly of Lewistown, MO passed away December 3, 2025 at North Shore Health & Rehabilitation Center in Loveland.

Funeral and burial will be held in Ewing, March 7th, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial service will be with Ball-Davis Funeral Home

Oneta was born on April 23, 1936 two miles south of Ewing to Paul and Mae Zuspann Coleman. She married the love of her life, Tom Bruce Primm, on March 9, 1952 and celebrated 62 years together. He preceded her in death June 3, 2014.

Survivors include her children Beth (Dennis) Frahm of Loveland, CO, Jeff Primm of Iowa City, IA; grandson, Bryce Primm; granddaughters, Stacy Frahm and Amber Primm; daughter-in-law Kathy Primm of Salem, MA; sister, Leta Gaus of LaGrange, MO; and dearly loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death most recently by her first born son Donald Bruce Primm; sisters, Mary Edmonston, Maxine Garner, Florence Bailey, Mildred Stewart, Ethel Robertson, Verna Stiffey; two brothers, Harvey and Elmer Coleman; and parents, Paul and Mae Coleman.

Oneta devoted her life to family and her Savior; she was gifted in raising & nurturing her children as well as others. Like moths are drawn to light, others who needed love, acceptance, encouragement or sound direction were drawn to her. Besides keeping the farm place looking immaculate and gathering produce from her garden, she enjoyed fishing, quilting, bowling, card games, reading, traveling, various crafts and house projects. Most every Sunday the kitchen table was set for family gatherings with an abundance of food that was enjoyed by many friends and family over the years.

She completed her GED in 1967 and was a lifelong learner instilling in others the desire to learn and embrace new challenges. She began work while one child was under school age by selling Avon products in the area. Then when all the children were in school she took a clerk job at Ewing Grand Leader. Mark's Quilting & Rug Weaving in Ewing needed some help so she learned how to machine quilt and rug weave. Her and her sister, Mary, bought this business and started NuWay Quilting and Rug Weaving which they did for 7 years. Her last job was secretary/bookkeeper/office staff with Farmers Cooperative in Ewing where she retired after 26 years of service. She met many people with her various jobs and her remarkable mind and memory would recall names, relations, locations and events that she had exposure to in her lifetime.
